Visiting Las Vegas With Kids - Things to Do

There was a time when Las Vegas wasn't really a place you'd bring your family. Drinking and gambling is still a big draw for some folks, but if you haven't been to Las Vegas recently, the great thing about the city is that you don't have to gamble a single dollar or drink a drop of alcohol to have a heck of a time there.

Certainly, you don't have to set foot inside a single casino to have a great time in Vegas, and not feel like you wasted your time. As some of its biggest fans say, "It's like Disneyland, now!" and in many ways, it really is like a high-class carnival these days. You have costumed entertainers walking the streets, amusement park rides, and, well, yes, games of chance.

We've gone on long enough talking about how Vegas has changed. If we keep at it, we won't have any room left to list the great things you can do with your kids in Vegas. But you know, even if we had one hundred pages to fill with kid-friendly Vegas attractions, we wouldn't even scratch the surface.

Adventuredome
Adventuredome is America's largest indoor theme park, encased in a five acre glass dome. You'll be able to spot this place from nearly anywhere in the city. It's not very easy to miss a gigantic pink and purple glass bulb sticking out on the skyline. Inside, it's definitely no county fair, it's a real, bonafide theme park, with roller coasters, and crazy thrill r ides like the Canyon Blaster. It should be obvious why we're putting this one at the top of the list.

GameWorks
It's not just a video game arcade. It's much, much more. GameWorks is kind of like what video games might be one hundred years from now. GameWorks is a high tech playground, mixing video game elements with real world activities like rock climbing. Until they perfect virtual reality, this is the closest your kids are going to get to being inside of the game

Zoological-Botanical Park
Even the zoos in Las Vegas are exotic and colorful. We've all been to a zoo, but at the Zoological-Botanical Park, you'll see a number of animals you can't see anywhere else.

Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix and the Las Vegas Cyber Speedway
The Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix is a kid's dream. There are three styles of mini race cars, including Kiddie cars for children 4 years or younger all the way up to Gran Prix cars, which you need to be 16 or older to ride. The Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix also features an arcade, a mini roller coaster, and a Super Fun Slide. The parents tend to go just as nuts over this attraction as the kids.
